Author Gill Mather…

“My name is Gill Mather and I’m looking forward to the Autumn Craft Market on 21stOctober at Ardleigh where I will have my paperbacks to sell. I am a solicitor by profession. Lately, I operated my own small legal practice from my home in Essex since 1997. I closed the practice on 31st March 2020 and now concentrate on writing and promoting my novels.  I’ve been writing seriously since 2012. Before attempting a historical novel last year, I wrote 8 novels and 6 novellas, all self-published on Amazon Kindle and available in paperback. Some are also available on Apple, Nook and KoboAll are contemporary and mainly a mixture of romance, crime and mystery. One is a rom-com.

My first historical novel is Intrigue At Longbourn which is a Pride & Prejudice prequel. In the book, the new rector of Longbourn parish, the charming, handsome Mr Wilde,is soon turning female heads and forms a particular attachment to Elizabeth Bennet when she seeks his help over a former employee of Longbourn House. Meanwhile, to save the family estate, Mr Bennet embarks on risky scheme which is ultimately in danger of spiralling out of control. As the summer advances, father’s and daughter’s separate manoeuvres inevitably clash, stoked up by the jealous intervention of a mischief-maker.  A sequel to P&P is my second historical novel covering the months after Elizabeth and Darcy marry. Named Menace At Pemberley, it draw on a number of charactersfrom Intrigue At Longbourn one of whom turns out to have been responsible for the menace. A further sequel is in progress to be named Easter At Netherfield.

Intrigue At Longbourn and Menace At Pemberley are both available as ebooks from Amazon, Apple, Nook and Kobo and as paperbacks from Amazon.
