2022 dates & venues…

‘Simply events’ are now looking to 2022 and can’t wait to get started on a fresh year of events.  Unfortunately, due to the regeneration project St Peters in Sudbury, it’s out of action for at least 2022, this has been a major issue for us as we love hosting our events in this venue and I’m afraid Sudbury doesn’t have another venue that could replace St Peters in the meantime, we do however have two new and exciting venues for 2022.  The first venue is ‘Clare Old School Community Centre’ with plenty of charm and character, the venue has two good sized halls along with a well equipped kitchen and cafe area, the venue is situated just behind the church in Clare and is only a few steps from the centre of the town. The second new venue is ‘New Green Community Centre’ in Thurston near Bury St Edmunds, this is a fantastic spacious venue with a main hall and connecting meeting room.  The venue has it’s own very popular cafe on site and is located in an extremely built up area, only a few miles from Bury St Edmunds, we are really looking forward to giving this venue a try!!  Along with the two new venues we will also be back at Horringer (near Bury St Edmunds), Lawford (near Manningtree), Wickham Bishops and Lavenham.

Stitched by Abi…Introduction to me and my company:

“I’m Abi, and I’m the owner of small embroidery and needlework business ‘Stitched By Abi’. I started with cross stitch in my first year of university in 2017 after finding some supplies in a charity shop and used this craft as a way to deal with loneliness and having a lot of spare time. After a few months I started selling my artwork in the café I worked part-time in, and this brought customers asking for custom pieces. I spent the next couple of years building up an online business selling my own designs in the form of kits and patterns for people to make themselves, and luckily this came just in time for lockdown when a lot of people were looking for craft projects to combat boredom while stuck at home. I sell my designs all over the world, and love seeing what people make from them, and I still stitch custom pieces, whether they are portraits of family and friends, images of family homes, personalised quotes, or pop culture references that mean a lot to someone.”

Embroidery hoops: £15 – £50

Needlework supplies: <£10

Cross stitch & embroidery kits: £10-£25

I really enjoyed today at Hadleigh and I have got home and my online shop at etsy, has had loads of views plus sold a few more pieces to people who were there today.  So Cogs and Gems would like to thank you and can’t wait for your future event dates, thank you again.

I wanted to say how much I enjoyed doing the Lavenham craft fair.  I have to admit at first I was concerned that there might not be as much footfall upstairs, but it was virtually busy all day, plus I had an excellent spot in the centre of the room, so thank you!
