Poppy’s Handcrafted Gifts…
“People often ask why Poppy’s when my name is Chris? – Years ago in my working life someone from the Far East thought my surname was my first name, mispronounced it, and called me Poppy. The nickname stuck until the day I retired. So when thinking of a name for my craft business, Poppy’s was the obvious choice.
I’ve crafted all my life, but with a family and a very busy working life, my makes were limited to gifts for family and friends, special requests, and Craft Fairs. I’m now in a position in my life where I can do what I love, crafting handmade home decor that also makes great gifts. I live 100 metres from the Sea, and although I never go in, I love walking along the seafront getting in my 10,000 steps thinking up new designs and ideas.
Everything I sell is handmade by me, with the exception of Bottle Openers and Bird Feeders, these are made by my husband Bob which are then laser engraved by me.”

Grandma Wendy Crafts…

Mercy Makes…
“I’m Mercedes, the creator behind Mercy Makes. Like many others, I picked up crocheting during the lockdown. My first project was a bee, and while it took days to get the hang of it, I finally made something. I’m not sure if it resembled a bee, but it was definitely a start!
What began as a fun hobby quickly turned into something more when friends and family started buying my creations as gifts. I realized that my little after-work activity was bringing joy to others, and that’s how Mercy Makes was born. Today, I run an Etsy shop filled with heart-warming reviews and repeat buyers, and have a wonderful, supportive community of followers on Instagram. This craft fair will be my first, and it’s something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. At my table, you’ll find an array of plushies, keychains, hanging plushies, and hats—perfect gifts for friends and family! I hope you’ll stop by my table and say hello!”
Roses: £15 These roses in their charming terracotta pots have always been a standout favorite. Originally, I thought they would only be popular as Valentine’s gifts, but they ended up surprising me. I received heartfelt messages from people saying their mothers loved them as Mother’s Day gifts. One particularly touching message said, “Yellow roses were the flowers at my mother’s funeral, so this is a lovely way to remember her.” Because of stories like these, these roses hold a special place in my heart.
Hats: £25 I made these hats with a blend of wool and acrylic yarn, making them wonderfully soft and warm. I absolutely love the colors—they’re so vibrant and fun to work with! Using multi-colored yarn always adds an extra bit of joy to the process.

Pickle Jar: £12 Who doesn’t love pickles? This tiny pickle in a glass jar always brings a smile to people’s faces. It’s such a quirky little gift! I love creating unique and whimsical items, and this pickle is no exception. And really, who doesn’t love pickles!
Spooky Bees: £10 I originally made these bees for Halloween, but Star Bee and ZomBee have become great gifts all year round for those who love spooky, darker themes. They make a quirky and unique present for that special someone. Crafted with supersoft baby yarn, these bees may look spooky, but they are incredibly gentle to the touch!
